What is the CDT?

We are providing at least 60 (15 / year) industry-linked 4-year PhD studentship, providing students with the skills and knowledge to become future leaders in this multidisciplinary field.

We are providing an exceptional training environment for students interested in advancing predictive in vitro models and next generation organ-on-a-chip technologies—an area of rapidly expanding international significance and strong industry demand. The programme brings together world leading researchers and key industrial stakeholders to train future scientific and technical leaders in this emerging field. 

The graduates from this Centre for Doctoral Training will help advance this exciting technology in order to transform life science research and the medicines development pipeline, delivering safer, more effective therapeutics for the benefit of all society.
